Changes to the BVB

The aim of the 2026 timetable adjustments is to improve access to the Bachgraben area and adapt to rising demand. Many lines will run more frequently, for longer and in a more targeted manner in line with demand. Travel times and peak times have also been revised to ensure a more stable service during rush hour.

Service changes per line

Line 2
The extension of the line to Fondation Beyeler during the morning rush hour will be increased to a 7.5-minute interval. Together with line 6, a 3.75-minute interval will be offered between Riehen and Badischer Bahnhof during this time. In the evening, line 2 will only run to Riehen until around 7 p.m.

Line 6
The service will be adjusted in line with demand, which is why only every second service will run to Riehen Grenze from around 8 p.m. The 7.5-minute interval to Fondation Beyeler will continue until around 10:15 p.m.

Line 30
The additional reinforcement services will run for longer, providing a 3.75-minute interval between SBB station and Kinderspital UKBB in the morning until around 10 a.m. and in the evening until around 6:30 p.m.

Line 31
As part of the new Bachgraben bus concept and the extension of the frequency and operating hours of line 48, in the future line 31 will only run between Otto Wenk-Platz and Claraplatz.

Line 32
On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, morning services ending in Bettingen Dorf will be extended to Chrischona Clinic, meaning that services will run every 30 minutes between Chrischona Clinic and Bettingen Dorf from around 5:45 a.m.

Line 33
As part of the new Bachgraben bus concept and the extension of the frequency and operating hours of line 48, the frequency on line 33 will be adjusted to every 15 minutes on Sundays and public holidays.

Line 38
The connection with line 48 will be discontinued and the line will be extended beyond Bachgraben to Allschwil Friedhof.

Line 42
During the morning and evening rush hours, there will be a 7.5-minute interval between SBB station and Hoffmann-La Roche. In addition, the Habermatten stop will no longer be served in both directions in order to reduce travel times.

Line 46
From Monday to Friday, all journeys between Kleinhüningen and Badischer Bahnhof will be extended to Muttenz station until around 8 p.m. This will create an all-day service between Kleinhüningen and Muttenz that is no longer limited to peak hours.

Line 48
Introduction of an all-day timetable on Sundays and public holidays, improving accessibility to the Bachgraben area. In addition, service on the section between Bahnhof SBB and Bachgraben will be increased to every 7.5 minutes during the morning and evening rush hours and extended to Bahnhof St. Johann.

Line 50
During the spring, summer, and fall holidays, the frequency on weekends will be increased to 7.5 minutes at times.
