Changes at PostBus
Major boost to mobility in Laufental and Schwarzbubenland
Public transport in Laufental and Schwarzbubenland is set to undergo significant expansion. On the Basel–Laufen–Biel railway line, you will now benefit from half-hourly long-distance services. PostBus is expanding its service by around 35 percent and, together with SBB, is providing the biggest increase in service in northwestern Switzerland since the introduction of Rail 2000. You will benefit from more frequent services, longer operating hours, optimized connections, and new direct connections.
Public transport in Oberbaselbiet and Fricktal is becoming more attractive thanks to express train stops
Express trains on the IR37 Basel–Liestal–Sissach–Aarau–Zurich line will now stop in Gelterkinden, while the IR36 Basel SBB–Frick–Zurich HB (–Zurich Airport) line will stop in Möhlin and Stein-Säckingen. PostBus is expanding its services accordingly and ensuring ideal connections.
Service changes per line
Laufental and Schwarzbubenland
Line 67: Dornach–Hochwald–Seewen SO
Line 67 runs from Dornach directly to Hochwald and on to Seewen. Gempen can now be reached with line 77 (Liestal–Dornach). PostBus buses run every half hour, hourly during off-peak times.
Line 68: Aesch BL–Ettingen–Hofstetten SO–Flüh
Line 68 continues to run from Aesch to Flüh. The timetable has been coordinated with the new S3 timetable.
Line 73: Hochwald–Gempen–Nuglar–Büren SO
Line 73 now runs from Hochwald via Gempen and Nuglar to Büren. The service is mainly intended for students at the Dorneckberg secondary school. Nuglar can now be reached with line 77 (Liestal–Dornach). Postbuses run every hour during peak times from Monday to Friday.
Line 77: Dornach–Gempen–Nuglar–Liestal
The new line 77 runs from Liestal via Gempen to Dornach. Postbuses run every half hour, and every hour during off-peak times.
Line 111: Laufen–Wahlen–Breitenbach–Nunningen–Seewen SO–Liestal
Line 111 now runs from Laufen via Wahlen to Nunningen and Liestal. Postbuses run every half hour, and hourly between Nunningen and Liestal during off-peak hours. In Laufen, you can connect to long-distance trains to Basel.
Line 112: Kleinlützel–Laufen–Breitenbach (–Nunningen)
Line 112 now runs on the Kleinlützel–Laufen–Breitenbach route and continues to Nunningen during peak hours. Postbuses run every half hour, and hourly during off-peak hours. In Laufen, you can connect to the S3 to Basel and long-distance trains to Biel/Lausanne. Huggerwald and Roggenburg can now be reached with line 116.
Line 113: Kleinlützel–Laufen–Breitenbach–Erschwil–Beinwil
The new line 113 runs during peak hours on the Kleinlützel–Laufen–Breitenbach–Erschwil–Beinwil route. Postbuses run every half hour. In Laufen, you can connect to long-distance trains to Basel.
Line 114: Bärschwil–Laufen–Dittingen–Blauen–Zwingen
Line 114 Bärschwil–Laufen will be extended via Dittingen and Blauen to Zwingen. Postbuses run every hour, and every half hour during peak hours. In Laufen, you can connect to the S3 to Basel and long-distance trains to Biel/Lausanne.
Line 115: Zwingen–Breitenbach-Erschwil
Line 115 now runs between Zwingen and Erschwil. Postbuses run every half hour throughout the day. Line 130 now runs via Passwang to Balsthal.
Line 116: Grellingen–Seewen SO aufgehoben
The previous line 116 has been discontinued.
Line 116: Roggenburg–Kleinlützel–Huggerwald
The new line 116 runs on the Roggenburg–Kleinlützel–Huggerwald route. Postbuses run hourly during peak times. Single journeys are also offered during off-peak times.
Line 117: Grellingen–Himmelried–Nunningen
Line 117 continues to run from Grellingen via Himmelried to Nunningen. Postbuses run every hour, and every half hour during peak hours. The Himmelried local bus service is being discontinued. A new school bus service outside the public transport network is now available for the Kastel district.
Line 118: Laufen–Liesberg–Riederwald
Line 118 will run on its usual route. Postbuses will run hourly, and every half hour during peak times. In Laufen, you can connect to the S3 to Basel and long-distance trains to Biel/Lausanne.
Line 119: Laufen–Nenzlingen–Grellingen
Line 119 now runs from Laufen via Nenzlingen to Grellingen. Postbuses run hourly, every half hour during peak times. In Laufen, you can connect to long-distance trains to Basel. Blauen and Dittingen can now be reached with line 114.
Line 130: Balsthal–Ramiswil (–Passwang–Breitenbach–Laufen)
Line 130 now runs between Balsthal and Ramiswil instead of line 115. The Postbuses run every half hour from Monday to Friday, and every hour during off-peak times and at weekends. During the week, there are four daily trips over the Passwang and on to Breitenbach and Laufen, and at weekends there are as many as ten trips.
Oberbaselbiet
Line 100: Rheinfelden–Gelterkinden
In Gelterkinden, you can catch express trains to Basel every half hour. Postbuses run every half hour until 9 p.m. and hourly at other times.
Line 101: Wegenstetten–Gelterkinden–Sissach
Line 101 is extended to Sissach. Postbuses run every 30 minutes during peak hours from Monday to Friday, and hourly at other times and on weekends. In Gelterkinden, you can easily change to express trains to Basel, and in Sissach to the S-Bahn.
Line 102: Gelterkinden–Kienberg (–Barmelweid)
Line 102 runs every half hour to Gelterkinden, and hourly from 9 p.m. In Gelterkinden, you can connect to the S-Bahn to Basel and Olten. On Sundays, the Postbus continues via Salhöhe and now also to the Barmelweid Clinic.
Line 103: Gelterkinden–Oltingen
Postbuses on line 103 now run every half hour from Monday to Friday until 8 p.m., and hourly from 8 p.m. onwards and at weekends. The Tecknau, Mitteldorf stop has been moved to Wenslingerstrasse, and the Tecknau, Bahnhof stop is no longer served. In the evening from 8 p.m., the Postbus will take you directly to Oltingen instead of via Zeglingen. In Gelterkinden, you can connect to the IR37 to Basel.
Line 104: Gelterkinden–Zeglingen
Postbuses on line 104 now run every half hour from Monday to Friday until 8 p.m., and hourly after 8 p.m. and at weekends. In Gelterkinden, you can connect to the IR37 to Basel.
Fricktal
Line 88: Rheinfelden–Möhlin
The Möhlin–Bata Park route is now served by line 89 (previously line 88).
Line 89: Wegenstetten–Zeiningen–Möhlin (–Bata Park)
Line 89 will be extended to Möhlin, Bata Park. This will create a continuous line through the entire municipality of Möhlin. Thanks to the new express train stops, you will have connections to the IR36 to Zurich throughout the day in Möhlin. Postbuses will run every half hour throughout the day, and even every quarter of an hour between Möhlin and Zeiningen during rush hour.
Line 133: Frick–Eiken–Sisslerfeld–Stein-Säckingen
In Frick, you can connect to the IR36 from Zurich in the morning and catch the express train back to Zurich in the afternoon. In Stein, you can connect to the S1 to Basel in the morning and back from Basel in the afternoon. Together with line 143, you can benefit from almost continuous quarter-hourly services in the morning and evening between Stein-Säckingen Bahnhof, Kantonsschule Stein and Sisslerfeld (Sisseln stop, DSM).
Line 134: Stein-Säckingen–Münchwilen–Oeschgen–Frick
To ensure you reach your connections more reliably, the timetable is geared towards the main direction of traffic. In the morning, the Postbus takes you to the station and picks you up again in the evening. From Monday to Friday, there is an additional afternoon service: Frick, Bahnhof at 15:01 and Stein-Säckingen, Bahnhof at 15:41. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can take advantage of an additional early service: Stein-Säckingen, Bahnhof at 6.19 a.m. and Frick, Bahnhof at 6.20 a.m.
Line 143: Stein-Säckingen–Sisseln–Kaisten–Laufenburg
In Stein-Säckingen, you can now catch the IR36 towards Basel and Zurich/Zurich Airport. Passengers from Kaisten can conveniently change to the S1 to Basel in Laufenburg. Together with line 133, you can benefit from almost continuous quarter-hourly services in the mornings and evenings between Stein-Säckingen Bahnhof, the Kantonsschule Stein school and Sisslerfeld (Sisseln, DSM stop). Departure times in Laufenburg and Stein have been adjusted to improve punctuality.
