Validity U-Abo Subscription and GA Travelcard in border areas

In contrast to the GA Travelcard, the U-Abo Subscription is valid in the entire RVL zones 1, 2 and 3 in Germany.
The U-Abo Supscription is valid on the entire DistriBus area in France. The GA is also recognised in the DistriBus area. However, U-Abo subscription and GA Travelcards are not valid on the S-Bahn (TER) or on trains (SNCF) in France.

Mutual recognition with RVL and Distribus in detail

General:

Transferable U-Abo Subscription:
The transferable U-Abo Subscription is valid in RVL zones 1, 2 and 3 as well as in the Distribus area only for the holder noted on the subscription and is not freely transferable.

National tickets:
The GA Travelcard (GA) is on principal not valid in the RVL zones, or for cross-border travel (exceptions see table above). In the Distribus area, the GA Travelcard is recognized.
Family reductions (Junior Travelcard and Children's Co-Travelcard), on the other hand, are not valid for cross-border travel (to Germany and France).

Mutual recognition with RVL (Germany):

The TNW U-Abo Subscription is valid in the complete RVL zones 1, 2 and 3 near the border, i.e. the travel pass is also valid in the German cities of Weil am Rhein, Lörrach and Rheinfelden as well as in the municipalities of Grenzach-Wyhlen, Binzen and Eimeldingen in the district of Lörrach.

In return, all RVL annual season tickets are completely valid in the Swiss TNW zones 10 (Basel and adjacent municipalities) as well as 40 (Rheinfelden-CH) and all RVL monthly and annual season tickets are valid on the Swiss side between the border and Basel-Claraplatz (tram 6, 8, bus 38, 55) as well as in Rheinfelden-CH (line 7312).

Mutual recognition with SLA (France):

The U-Abo Subscription from TNW is valid in the complete DistriBus area in France. On the one hand, the U-Abo Subscription is also valid to Saint-Louis on bus 604. On the other hand, further destinations to Kembs and Sierentz can be reached, but also connections such as via Hagenthal to Leymen are possible.

In return, DistriBus subscriptions are valid on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on line 3 between the national border and Barfüsserplatz and on lines 603/604 to Schifflände in Basel as well as on line 608 to Bachgraben, Allschwil.
